The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (movie, book)

The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe

The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe

Hey Girls! The first movie of the Chronicles of Narnia is the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. This movie Totally Rocks, but it does have 1 agressive scene (told later in my review), some of you might not want to watch this certain part at the end, the war.

  • Did you know that it was actually a Christian man (C.S. Lewis) who wrote the series?

C.S. Lewis was born 29 November 1898, his first Narnian book was completed (The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe) in March 1949 and was published on 16 October 1950. The movie was made in 2005 by Disney. His books are a metaphor.

C.S. Lewis tells a story of four children: Peter the oldest, Susan next, then Edmund and Lucy Pevensie. Their Dad is away at war and their Mom can’t afford to take care of them….so they are sent on the train to Professor Digory Kirke’s house. They play hide ‘n’ seek and discover the world of Narnia, in, as you can imagine, the wardrobe.  The four kids meet ‘The Lion named Aslan and other interesting creatures. They have to join him and some of the Narnia inhabitants to fight The White Witch who has brought winter to Narnia for 100 years.  Her power is to freeze anyone who comes against her kingdom – and some Narnians chose to follow her.  At one part in the movie someone does something disobeying the law and the punishment is to die, but Aslan decides he will die instead. This is the part I suggest you fast forward, it is evil and I didn’t even watch it. (Or maybe your parents can watch the whole movie before you.) FYI all the animals and creatures in this story can talk! At the end … I won’t give the story away … let’s just say you will not be disappointed!

The Christian version(how it relates to the bible):  Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy Pevensie are like us. The lion is a symbol of Jesus, and the Witch is like the devil. We join forces with Jesus and we can defeat the devil. There is a war of other creatures who don’t look like humans, half horse, half man, so they are like angels and demons. The devil (the witch) hates everybody, because God made us in His image, and he wants to hurt us, so that we will be on his side, and turn against God. Like in the bible Romans 6:23 says: For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. So Aslan died for their sins.
By this point the war is about to start and now everybody is kind of worried because they know they can’t fight on their own, just like we can’t live alone, because we need Jesus!  One day in Heaven we will be Kings and Queens! Even over the angels!!!

This series, is a good example of what we should do, and a glimpse of the spiritual world. I hope you enjoy it’s honestly my favorite Narnia movie!

Love ya,
